Cannonway Awarded Contract On Major LNG Project in Malaysia
Cannonway Energy Ltd. (‘CEL’), one of Hong Kong’s leading consultants to the energy sector, has been awarded a contract to provide contractual, commercial and quantity surveying services on an EPC contract in Malaysia.
Our client, the Main Contractor, was awarded the engineering, procurement and construction contract by PETRONAS LNG 9 Sdn. Bhd., (a wholly-owned subsidiary of PETRONAS) for the construction of the 9th LNG Train and its associated facilities in the PETRONAS LNG Complex in Bintulu, Sarawak, Malaysia.
The EPCC Contract is valued close to USD 2.0 Billion, and work is for completion at the end of 2015. This additional train, Train 9, will have a capacity of approximately 3.6 million tons of LNG per year and its feedstock will be supplied from PETRONAS' newly developed offshore gas fields, off the coast of Sarawak, Malaysia.
CEL has been contracted to provide full claims and contracts administration services to the Project Management Team, managing subcontractors claims and providing contractual advice and assistance through the currency of the project, continuing a trend of an increasing number of companies who are relying on CEL to provide both contractual and construction industry expertise to manage the complex contractual administration of construction projects, and to deal with issues between the parties as they arise.
